The Golden Stag trivia…
1. How and when did you discover your passion for music?
When I was little, I wanted to be an astrophysicist. I adored the star studded sky, which gave me humility and brought many dreams and ideas to my little head. One day, looking through my telescope when I was around six, music started playing in my head, and it has been so ever since. My parents enrolled me in a music school at the age of 6 and I started singing a month later. I can't exactly recall how I started singing, I just know that I can't imagine my life without it.
2. Define your musical style in one phrase.
Refusing to be defined.
3. Favorite musicians.
The first music I encountered in my life was with Enya, a Celtic singer my parents used to play in my crib on speakers, then Queen and Freddie Mercury were my only Idols in my tween years, and into my teens I rediscovered my love for Chopin and most notably Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whom I listened to religiously. Now my tastes in music are open to interpretation, and I love discovering new genres and musicians everyday, such as Alexandre Desplat, Danny Elfman, ELO and Ethiopian Jazz bands.
4. What do you prefer to read / eat/do in your spare time.
I adore books. With all my heart, I truly believe that they can change lives and are the best gift you can give or receive. I like to believe that my book tastes are very diverse, however I've noticed that for some reason, I find myself drifting towards sociology and psychology. With food, anything that reminds me of my home by the Mediterranean Sea works.
5. If not a singer, then you would be a …
That's an interesting question, seeing as I'm still in highschool, however I can't imagine this life without singing. In another dimension I'm probably a lawyer, fashion designer or writer. Seeing as all of these were professions I felt strongly about not that long ago.
6. How do you define happiness?
Exceeding your expectations.
7. Your motto for this Festival.
Share the Passion with Compassion.
