AMALIYA MARGARYAN

Amaliya Margaryan has been singing since the age of 4, and since 12 years she has been composing songs. Love for music merges with the one for justice, Amalyia being a lawyer.

Amaliya Margaryan is 23 years old. She was born and raised in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. By profession she is a lawyer.

From 4 years old she attended a choir, than combined it with music school. Her brightest childhood memory includes maestro Tigran Hekekyan. ”He gave me the microphone and I started trembling. It was my first time on the stage”, remembers Amalya.

She started writing songs at 12, but considers she reached to something more or less valuable compositions during the last 2 years.

She has taken part in music shows as X Factor of Ukraine, The Voice of Russia, and she was the finalist in the national selection of Eurovision 2018, in Armenia. Also, in 2017 she was backing vocal from Armenian delegation in Eurovision.

Amalyia says she choose songs that send a deep, emotional message that touches a sensitive string in the soul of the listener: ”I always think of my pieces as a whole that conveys that message. Everything has to be in harmony, from the text and melodic line to my outfit and the song clip.”

How and when did you discover your passion for music?

My passion for music discovered my mother, when i was nearly 2 years old, I was barely talking, but was singing some parts of the songs, that my mom was singing to me.

If you’re asking about genre, so it’s more Pop or AC.

Favorite musicians …

 There are so many of them, in every genre and any kind of music i have my favs.

What do you prefer to read/ eat/do in your spare time?

The books that i can reread for 1000 times, are about Harry Potter. I prefer to eat a junk food (coca-cola, chocolate, burgers). I’m also a big fan of seafood. Usually I spend my spare time with my family or friends, watching films, walking, reading and of course sleeping.

How do you define happiness?

Just knowing that all your loved ones are in a good health and safe.

Your motto for this Festival.

To be a part of such a historical festival and being heard by so many people is already a big motivation. In addition, I want to carry my song’s message and make every person, who’ll hear the song, feel those emotions that I do.
